In scoping out PLAYLIST content each month, we find some incredible websites and content that we can't quite fit into the zine. We're sharing that right here. Cool things to do. In-depth info. Just crazy and bizarre. If we love it, we'll toss it in the blog. Enjoy!

A collection of information that captures the history of DC & MD soul music. Photos and news, both historical and recent. Also a list of links to similar sites in other regions.

If you're a fan of Big Band music, here's a great site. Listen to songs and radio recordings from wayyy back plus personal discussions and lots of other links.

This band also has another cool video that was recognized by the digital video publication Stash and graphic publication IDN. The video is the second collaboration between Brooklyn artist Phillip Niemeyer of Double Triple and San Francisco-based media artist Ryan Junell following their hand-animated stop-motion video for Spoon’s “You Got Yr Cherry Bomb” .

Hazelwood Vinyl Plastics Surfsongs FREE MP3s
This is an interesting site. Germany seems to have a retro revival music scene happening and some of it has been heading our way. (Check out Max Raabe in our October issue of PLAYLIST and The King Khan and BBQ Show in November.) Anyway, this FREE MP3 compilation is quite fun. Get it here:
Alanis Morissette "Book"
We are, of course, fans of digital books and magazines. Alanis has a great one. If you're a fan, you'll love it. If not, it's still fun to look at.
